We woke up at 9:45 this morning which was nice. We walked down the street next to our hotel to Piazza Vitorio and took some pictures. We then saw the Domus Auria - Nero's Palace- in Parco Oppio. It was HUGE! From what we read, it was supposedly 25x the size of the Coliseum! We walked down the street and saw the Coliseum and the Forum once again - everything looked much better in the sunlight. We grabbed some water and a couple of chocolate bars from the stand (see picture) to tide us over and continued walking.

We passed through Circus Maximus- where Rome's Largest stadium once was. It's now just a field. It used to be able to hold up to 30o, 000 spectators. The main attraction here was chairot races.

We headed to the end of the 'field' to Santa Maria in Cosemdin (the

church displaying the Mouth of Truth). The inside was being renovated so we only got to see certan sections of the cathedral. The Mouth of Truth

(La Bocca della Verita) was located outside the main entrance. There was a line-up to get a picture taken beside it. Unfortunately, the pictures Jeff took of me standing by it didn't turn out too well.

We saw San Girorgio and the Temples of the Forum  Boarium fromthe outside and took some pictures.  We went back towards Circus Maximus and took pictures of the Palatine - good view!  We walked past the Stadio Della Terme Callacalla and saw a group of people running around the track.

More soon...
