Hey there folks,

So we have headed further South and are currently resting in Franz Josef- Glacier Town. But before we get onto the 'big' news, we will inform you about all the fun things we have been doing while you all sit at home and enjoy the snow.

Before we left Richmond we decided it would be fun to go horse backriding through the mountains. Very exciting. Sherron's horse was named Rodney, Mom's was Clint and mine was Oscar- the boss of course..lol..Sherron's horse was the 'geek' of the group and the last to follow. Mom's had attitude, but Oscar put him in his place..many times. It was a two hour tour up hills where we stopped for tea- but we weren't allowed to eat the cheese, it was only for the 3 hr group.

This horse farm was very unique, as they were the owners of two famous horses and a few 'extras.' We saw Percy, the white horse from Lord of the Rings and Concrete, who was the black horse for the evil guys with the white stripe down his nose. It was a great day!

After the horse backriding that took up our morning, we drove for quite some time till we hit Hokitika- the town known for its Jade and Ruby Stone- unique to NZ. It was also an old Gold Rush town.

There we headed onward till we reached our final destination for the day- Franz Josef. We tried to get on the Sat tours, but we unable to due to lots of tourists and bus groups in town. But it did leave time for Mom and I to go SKYDIVING! Over Glaciers!!! What a thrill- 12500 ft  at a speed of 185 per  hour..free falling for 53 seconds- longer than usual because we had to get through the first set of clouds- this was to ensure we didnt get lost! Amazing..and we have pictures to prove it...

Tomorrow we have a glacier hike planned for the morning- Sherron might be frozen on the mountain as she only has 3/4 pants..but we will look after her!

Off to Queenstown...:)
