Aaargh - woke up at 4 am and couldn’t go back to sleep. I’ve slept brilliantly on the RTW trip so far but now I’m away from my tribe my sleep’s back to being rubbish.
Went to a seminar on the future of HD which yielded some useful information and met some lovely film makers and Simona Marchegiani from the British council who is on the jury and doing a screening of British films. Next was a posh lunch at the “Rustique Bistro” for the film makers and festival patrons (of which there are many). It was delicious and I met a lovely documentary makers called Sylvia Johnson (she made Alagados), along with ML Lincoln (Drowning River) and Ismet again.

Next went to a presentation by Dr Jim Withers who was the main subject from the documentary One Bridge to the Next. He is an amazing GP who works on the streets (and under the bridges) of Pittsburgh with the homeless people there. It was a fascinating presentation and very inspirational.
After this it was time for my screening. Nerve wracking and cold my knees were literally knocking as I sat on the stage for the Q&A afterwards. Luckily I was sitting next to Conor Ferguson (who made a very funny film called The Wednesdays) who was about as nervous as I was so I wasn’t alone in my fear. Then we had a second Q&A at a round table in the lobby afterwards so I grabbed a quick burrito before going into the 9 pm screening. Back at my hotel now - didn’t make it to the bar afterwards - tired and a bit dazed!
