Nach'm Mittag bin ich dann endlich aus Rotorua weggekommen. Ich fuhr gen Osten, der einzigen Region, in der ich vor drei Jahren noch nicht war.

Da ich so spaet los bin, bin ich auch nur etwa 250 km gefahren. Am erstbesten Schild wo 'tent sites' (Zeltplatz) drauf stand bin ich angehalten.

Ausser mir waren noch ein aelteres Paar aus Neuseeland dort. War schoen dort, direkt am Meer - waere es nicht so kalt gewesen, haette ich auch gebadet -,

eine nette kleine Wiese, eine kalte Aussendusche, ein einfaches Klo, alles was man braucht. Nachts war es so dunkel; kein Lichtlein weit und breit

(ausser von den Nachbarcampern); ich habe schon lange nicht mehr so viele millionen Sterne gesehen.

After lunch I finally left Rotorua. I drove to the Eastland, the only region I have not been three years ago. Because I left so late I only drove about 250 km. I just stopped at the first best sign which says 'tent sites'. Besides me there was an elderly couple from New Zealand who camped next to me. It is very nice there. Direct on the ocean - would it be a bit warmer I would have gone for a swim. The camp has a nice meadow, a cold outside shower, a simple loo - just everything you need. At night it was so dark, no light far and wide (only from my camper neighbours). I have not seen so many million stars for a while.
