Farewell Dinner

Mum, Dad, Rob and Sue have trusted me to write the first entry while they are on their way to Singapore.

Last night was the first time in many years that both families had all been in one place. Somehow we still ended up at the kids table. I guess some things will never change.

There was of course many last minute instructions for those being left behind and the rush to get the last minute things like the mobile phones, camera batteries and forgotted delieries organised.

Everyone had a great time and the accommodating right down to Dad accosting the poor waitress to take photographs for us.

As my uncle would have said - the food was fantastic. The seafood was cooked to perfection and the duck looked divine. Desert was a masterpiece in most regards - though it did launch a debate on just how much caramel should there be in a Banoffe Pie.

The night was called fairly early owing to the stupidly early departure time of the plane this morning as most of us were up at 5.30am.
