This was the final destination of our tour-the capital city of the dominican!  We did a walking tour of the city, saw some pretty sweet sights.  Walked on the first cobblestone road in the new world, saw some of columbus's stuff, you know! Then we went to a massive shopping/market place.  It was crazy, every vender was like come here my little americana...oh boy was it annoying or what?! I did get some earrings, but that was about all! We then went out to this sweet place for dinner and had a blast there, the food was amazing too! and I love how desert was fresh bananas and papaya drizzled with chocolate...YUM!

The next day was our last last adventure (excluding the plane ride home).  We went splunking, aka caving!  We rode horses to a certain point, and then we hiked this amazing trail, and then we repelled into the cave.  We walked/swam and climbed through this natural cave, it was pretty neat, will not lie!  Then we walked out and rode our horses back to the ranch.  And had such an amazing lunch! yumm...!

That was pretty much it in Santo Domingo...Oh wait, our last night there we all went out to this amazing disco/bar.  It was so much fun as our last night there.

The trip home was also quite an adventure...!

------>First, our flight out of the DR was delayed for 2 hours, and the delay kept increasing until 7 hours later, they announced the flight was cancelled....though, all 15 students couldn't transfer to another flight...so they flew us to Ft. Lauderdale instead of Miami, and then taxied us to miami, lost some of our bags...and well, at least we were out of the DR? It was well after 3am once we all rescheduled flights to get back to our own states, and no1 really got a chance to eat etc....So we all decided to park it on the airport floor....My flight left at 5:50 the next morning, wasn't properly verifed, I had to pay $300 for it, and oh boy, I was sick on top of it...Lets say I was never happier to see my mom or PA in my life! I did learn stuff from the trip home, like how to handle certain situations, so I guess I am glad I found my way around with 15 students who i lived with for the past month...it was amazing to still spend time with them...but I do really really miss them, we have created such an unbreakable bond--they were all truely the ones that created my experience for me!

My daughter is thinking about going traveling with International Student Volunteers. Is it a reputable company? Are the college students safe?
