Well after getting the dogs to LAX 4 hours before the flight, we had to wait an additional two hours because the flight was delayed. The flight it self is what you would expect from a 10 hour flight in coach---very, very long. But the real fun started when we arrived and getting the dogs through customs which was about 3 hours, and then taking the kennels apart in 35 deg weather. So we strapped the kennels to the roof of the rental van and drove to Brussels. However we never made it there as there was a 3 semi truck wreck on the highway, and we were forced to seek alternate accommodation. Luckily when I pulled off the road unable to drive any further the only hotel in the town of Meerkirk allowed pets --- score. In the morning we headed to Terneuzen and found another pet friendly hotel which was a great find because if we hadn’t I would have been commuting over an hour to the nearest one we found on the internet in Brussels. So ends by far the roughest days we will face here and we are glad to have them behind us.
