Osnabruck

Today we arrived in Osnabruck to visit Steffi who some of you may remember from Kim and Tim's Pig Roast last year.  We only had the day to spend with her so we were a little sad about that.

Osnabruck is a beautiful college town.  We've already learned so much about the German culture that is not taught in schools.  What is most unfortunate is that Germany has lost so much of it's culture in the war.  Because so much was bombed, few old building actually remain.  We were also told that it is not a popular practice to fly the German flag because many other countries in Europe look upon it negatively.  Even during a soccer game, Germans feel pressure not to act too patriotic.  Very strange and sad I thought.
