We arrived in South Africa!!

No cyclones thank goodness but we did hit a bad storm.  We missed the last leg of our trip to Durban.  We caught an early morning flight and are now relaxing at our hostel on the beach.

Tomorrow we are meeting our tour group to begin our 12 day tour of South Africa starting in Durban and ending in Cape Town.  I'm not sure if we will have access to internet but if we do we'll update you.

We are having trouble uploading our pictures.  We are not sure if it's the camera or the computers we are using.  Or the operator...Chris!!

Happy Thanksgiving if we don't get a chance to say it later!

We have arrived in Cape Town!  South Africa is a beautiful country and we have seen alot of it.  We left Durban in our truck named Jimi and 18 other fellow travelers.  Drakenstin Mountains was our first stop then headed to Coffee Bay, Addo Elephant Park, Tsitsikamma National Park, Conga Caves, Stellenbosch, and finally Cape Town.

We will be relaxing in Cape Town for a few days then heading to Kruger National Park in hopes of seeing the Big 5 - elephants, buffalo, lion, leopord, and rhino!

Well we saw the big five and many many more animals.  It's amazing to see all the animals in their natural habitat rather than at the zoo.  We had 4 full days of seeing animals.  We spotted zebras, giraffes, hippos, crocks, lots of birds, turtles, lizzards, warthogs, lots of impalas, cheetahs, hyenas...too many to remember.

Three weeks in South Africa has been quite and experience and we saw a good part of the country.  Tonight we are leaving to go to Eygpt and that should be a real change of pace!

You guys are excellent photographers! Loving every picture. You have such a nice variety of activities between hanging out with a group of travelers, active sports and sight seeing from a vehicle. Looks like every day is the best! Aunt Barb

Meghan, I am so enjoying the trip. Sounds like travel and weather have been good. Enjoy the Garden Route if that is where your tour takes you in S. Africa. Also be sure to take a wine bus while in Cape Town. Lots of fun! Take care, Roberta
