What a day.   Ann woke up even sicker (?) than Wednesday.  She obviously needed a doctor.  We couldn't find any obvious ones in the phone book, so I did what any normal person would do.  Called Town Hall.  They promptly told me that no local doctor would take a tourist off the street and they don't have immediate care centers, so the only option left was the hospital emergency room.   So we went.  And met the nicest hospital employees ever, including the doctor.  They were patient and compassionate to the whole situation.  After the examination it was determined she had strep throat and given a prescription for the infamous Z Pack and instructions to a pharmacy.  The whole emergency room took less than one hour.  I think we will go to Massachusetts for all our medical needs.

I took her home and a family meeting determined she would stay at the house and rest and the rest of us would go back to Boston.  Now keep in mind we would not have our navigator, so it was sure to be an adventure.

We found our way back to the train station - I NEVER pay attention when I drive if Ann is with me, so basically I was clueless.  But we got there with 10 minutes to spare.

We made it to Boston and I gave Shelby the job of getting us to the Freedom Trail.  Eventually, we got there.  We walked part of the trail, covering many sites such as the Holocaust Memorial, Boston Massacre site, Burial Place of John Hancock, Paul Revere, and others, and the Boston Commons.  We took Kevin back to Fenway again -- a subway ride that involved changing trains, but again we made it.

After that, we headed to the subways again and found our way to the campus of Harvard.  Shelby is ready to transfer and Kevin considers it his first official college visit.

We found our way back to the train station and headed to the house to pick up Ann, who was feeling better, to get a late dinner.

Of course nothing stays open after 9 except Geno's Pizza, so we had thin, mediocre pizza as our last New England meal.
