That says UVF!
From Ulster Travels in Belfast, United Kingdom on May 08 '08
I started my journey by flying to Dublin and then taking the AirCoach up to Belfast. We went by the Boyne River Valley, through Newry and through Armagh before getting to Belfast by about noon. The first thing I did was to find the hostel. I got a map, walked around and found it in a back alley behind the public Library, and next to a bar with a bomb fence around it. I checked in with the worker who had way too much caffeine. Afterward, I got some subway and headed for the hop on hop off tour of Belfast. It was pretty cheap, and it passed by all of the sights like the Parliament Building, the Docks, the Government Buildings, the Cathedral Quarter, the City Hall, Queens University, the Europa Hotel, and the Crown Bar. I thought the most interesting part was going through the areas where the Troubles happened: the Shankill and Falls Roads. We saw the old barracks, courthouses, the peace fences, and of course all the murals for the Unionists and the Republicans. It was humbling and I am glad to have seen all of the history. After the tour I went back to the Europa bus station to get the timetables for the rest of my trip. I got all the timetables, and walked around the city center some more to make sure I didn't miss any good photos. I ate at subway again and headed to the hostel to rest up and find my way around the city again. I went out to the Crown Bar for a drink, walked back to the Queens University area, took a walk through the Botanical Gardens, and had even more food. I packed it in early so that I could be ready for my plans the next day.
