We arrive in Cusco about midday. We negotiate with the hustlers/taxi drivers at the airport and book into a recommended hostel, Loki. Loki is an old Viceroy up a very steep street overlooking Cusco, with big courtyards and thick walls and after a couple of hours of limbo we get a nice room. The bar sells all the food and drink you need, so we take it easy to get used to the altitude (3310m) and sleep lots.

The next couple of days in Cusco are spent organising our Manu Adventure and checking out the sights at a slow pace. Cusco is a beautiful city, with lots of Inca culture. It is also the gateway to a whole range of other Inca adventures, a good base for our planned travels.

We never did try Guinea Pig! Too much like a pet! We did however camp next to a Guinea Pig farm and we could hear them squeeking away, I think they sensed they were for dinner! C&C
