If for some reason anyone ever wonders what it might feel like to live in the movie Blue Crush, feel free to ask me and I will recap my stay here in Tamarindo.  Kimberly and I have made friends with a local surf guy Ricardo and he take us out (with free boards) to where the good surf is, gives us pointers, and joins us for a meal afterwards.  Last night we hit the water at about 6 and rode all through the sunset.  Magical.  We then indulged in a plate of nachos "as big as your ass" and came back to the Botella for a power nap before going out.  Thursday and Friday most stores were closed to observe East or Semana de Saint (spelling?), so everyone was more than ready to hit the clubs when they were allowed to open at midnight.  Starting at about 1030, despite all the bars still being closed, the whole town gathered on the streets and mingled between parked cars with their music on full blast and carts selling carne esada.  At 12 everyone headed to Pescadors for dancing next to the beach.  We danced our little feet out until 4, when we decided we may want to turn in since we hoped to get up early and surf this morning before the beach got too crowded.  Only three hours after crashing we woke up drenched in sweat- our AC must have broken down.  We went out for breakfast by the playa and then returned for some catnapping in hammocks.  We hope to surf at sunset again, so it will probably just be resting and maybe some frisbee  on the beach before then.

The past few days have been unreal.  I have never felt so relaxed in my life.  Kimberly and I have been able to really do whatever we want, since we have absolutely no itinerary.  I cannot reiterate how much fun it is to travel with such loose plans and a "we'll see what happens" attitude.  I highly recommend catching a flight to central america and leaving a couple of months with no schedule.  The adventure of having no idea what to expect next is exhilarating.  And the networking that takes place with other wanderers is very intense.  I already feel like the Botella is home.  Kimberly and I baked a cake in the kitchen two nights ago and everyone came around to have a piece, a gathering which morphed into the third guitar jam session of the day.  I have been playing the guitar a lot here, which is fun.  I was certain I would come across people who would have things to teach me on this trip, and I was right.  Diego from Italy, Tom from BC, Hunter from Tulane College, and Pierre from Costa Rica have all taught me a thing or two, and it has been quite entertaining to watch them all goof around together.  These past few days have been unreal.

Time for a little beefris on the beach.  Pura vida.  (when Ricardo says it, it sounds so much cooler)
