My day started very early making the trek to Victoria station and then to the bus stop in the pouring rain! I was drenched by the time I got there. But at least I was soon on the warm bus and off to the English counrtyside. I slept as we were leaving London and woke up to some beautiful scenery as we continued to Bath. I decided that if I couldn't afford my extravagant flat in Kensington, then the English countryside would be my next choice. The little stone cottages and stone walls are picture perfect.

When we got to Bath it was still pouring down rain so we quickly went into the Ancient Roman Baths Museum for a look at the Bathhouse. The museum is really well done and has some intresting finds. The ancient bathhouse is amazing but unfortunately it was under construction so I couldn't get in the baths. After I went through the museum I had a drink of the ancient waters, which just tasted like warm water. A quick stop to look inside Bath Abbey and to get out of the rain while waiting for the bus to return turned out to be a lovely stop.

As we were leaving Bath the roads started flooding due to the large amounts of rain and in many places the water was running across the road. We had a nice big tour bus so we were ok crossing but there were some less fortunate who flooded their cars and were being helped. Despite the weather we made it to Stonehenge, where it wasn't raining but was windy and bitterly cold. We got an audio guide with our tour and only the first part of the circuit walk was open. I did a quick tour and took some pictures but I was quite disappointed in how small it was. The rocks are pretty big but the area was quite small...I guess it always looked bigger in photos. I didn't listen to all the audio guide and all of us were back on the bus with our hot chocolates before our scheduled time was up.

The next, and last, stop was Salisbury Cathedral. We were running late due to having to stop for flooding roads but we were told that we would have time for a quick tour before the evening service started. We were ushered into the cathedral and told to go all the way to the back and start there. Its a HUGE church and a very beautiful one as well. Even a quick look was great!

Soon it was a drive back to London. I slept most of the way since it was dark and I couldn't see much anyway.
