Hello,
The Rhein River drive up to Bacharach is spectacular with the numerous castles that line the hills. Our Pension Marlewinkle is great. It is built right into the wall which surrounds the city. Everything is within walking distance. Today we took a drive to Worms. Yet another Martin Luther town. It was in Worms where Luther would not recant his 95 thesis and was then declared an outlaw. (it was actually called the Diet of Worms…sounds yucky but has a totally different meaning) Very nice Luther memorial statue there…but it is currently under construction.

After Worms we trekked to Heidelberg. As we went up to see the Koinigstuhl (Kings seat) on top of the mountain we were greeted by snow flakes! It was COLD! We then went to the Schloss, (Castle/ Ruins). The castle and Apothecary was really the highlight of Heidelberg. We did walk around the city a bit…but were freezing our buns off. Hope you enjoy the photos.
We are off to Trier now.
We think of you all often….Rich says he can’t wait to share the 6 hour photo presentation to you all! Ha. Hope you are all well….we keep hearing about the fires….we will take the cold for now.
