Week 2 blues.
I was very loath to leave Allentown. My hotel was practically in the middle of a freeway on-ramp. I determined to take back roads to lift my spirits. I wrapped my left ankle, which was sore from the previous day’s hike and started out. With still 10 or more miles to go to my Kutztown destination, and the ankle worse, I decided to take a cab.
I read my letters and cried.
I also decided to stay two nights to give my body some rest and to give me ample time to deal with my re-supply box at the post office. I nearly had a breakdown when I realized that the Post Office had moved and was not at the address I had mailed my box to. Failing your first drop is a very bad sign. But I found the new Post Office and they had my box and some notes from some friends. I sat on the sidewalk and looked through my box and I read my letters and cried.

Even limping around town without a pack, I had not failed yet. I played 1 game of Pooh-sticks on a bridge on my way back to my motel. Kutztown is my new favorite town; at least for today.
