The main purpose of our visit to Winchester was to visit my cousins Tom and Louise. We spent two nights at their house and had a very enjoyable stay. Needless to say they were excellent hosts!

Within Winchester itself we visited the massive cathedral and the famous round table. The cathedral has an interesting mix of romanesque and gothic architecture which illustrates the changing styles since the 11th century.

We also fitted in a trip down to Portsmouth to view the British Naval fleet and the two warships, HMS Victory (the memorial to Lord Nelson) and HMS Warrior.

Thanks again to Tom and Louise for putting us up for two nights and it was great to meet you both!
