Arrrived in Amsterdam! It had been a long trip on the train but I can now say that I've been through 3 countries in a day! It was good seeing. We put our stuff down in the Hotel Neutral - good city centre location and nice to have a shower finally.
We headed to the Grasshopper first which is one of the famous cafes in Amsterdam, and got pretty wrecked from there actually :) Not a lot of conversation after that :) The streets were great though that night, such an atmosphere. I think a little bit too paranoid by that point to do the full red light district.. it's a lot less tacky than I had envisaged the place. It's actually all very cute and quite discrete at least compared to what I had expected.
The next day we drank a lot of coffee in a lot of cafes and had to ended up chilling down at the park for a couple of hours. There are so many bikes and everying driving on the right side of the road is quite confusing. There are bike paths, footpaths and roads with trams and everyone is going the wrong way! It's a really picturesque place with all it's canals and alleys.
So good to finally get home... it had been a long trip home. And then work the next day ...!
