Took a wee flight across to Barcelona. A wee flight after the past few weeks which made the flight fly in. Made the trip from the airport out to the costa Brava and Santa Susanna where we were staying. Lovely 1hr train journey along the coast. The resort is pretty geared up for older Brits but our hotel was nice and we were hardly in it anyways.

Spent the friday just chilling out in the sun and wandering around the resort eating tapas and drinking sangria, when in Spain do as the Spaniards do hehe

Sat 12th May- Qualifying day

Early rise on sat to head off to the track. Nice sunny day. I love the circuit de Catalunya. The Spaniards sure make a weekend of it. They were there in their hundreds of thousands all shouting for their local boy Alonso. They had their big eskie chiller boxes full fo beer and bread.They sure know how to do it ;o)

I had my custom made Couthard and Webber tshirt on,someone has to support the underdogs. Their was an air display by the Spanish airforce which was wicked,though not a patch on the Red Arrows hehe!

Qualifying went superbly for Coulthard, His 1st qual in the top 10, 9th place, woohoo i must've brought him luck, Shame poor old Webber didnt have the same luck he ended up at the back of the grid with probs boohooo.The last few laps of qualifying provided us with great entertainment, Pole positon switched 4 times from Hamilton to Kimi to Alonso then Massa snatched it in the final few seconds! The spanish crowd were gutted awwwwwwww! I was just so happy for DC yipeeeee

Had some tapas and Sangria again and went out for a nice meal.Not too late to bed as up early for race day ;o)

Sunday 13th May-Spanish GP-circuit de Catalunya

We were up at the crack of dawn to don our GP gear.I was in my wee kilt and salitres and another custom made tshirt for the red bull boys and Stewy was in his webber tshirt with his aussie face tatoos on.We were all set for Gp day ;o)Not sure what the South Africans thought when we walked on their bus haha We had made up a  packed lunch with baguettes and wine-so no need for us to move from our seats ;o)

Took us nealry 2hrs to get to the track but it was all v exciting. Ive never seen so many buses in my life!There must have been at least 800buses! We did a bit of shopping at the track then headed for our seats.

I always look forwards to the drivers parade as you get to see the drivers out of their cars and waving to us. Stewy and i got pole positon at the front of our stand and got all set to wave to our boys, I had my Saltire out and Stewy his Aussie flag for Webber. We were jumping up and down like idiots. No danger of them missing us, and they didnt! They saw us and waved back yipeeee Made our day haha saddos!

 The race got a bum start as Trulli stalled hsi car and had to start from the pitlane-oopsy. take 2 and off they went. Dc made up 2 places and went up to 7th woohooo Webber was also flying and picked off a few cars too. Alonso was trying too hard and went of into the gravel as he tried to pass Kimi-oops!It was  a pretty good race and we saw alot fo action where we were sitting. Webber didnt last logn and ended up retiring after a few laps boohooo. We saw Scott Speed blow a tire right in front of us then saw the 2 Honda teammates knock into each other-doh! I was delighted to see Kimi retire ;o) What a  shame-not! The closeet the race got the the end the more nervous i was getting for DC. We heard he ahd gearbox problems but he was hanging onto 5th place with dear life.Luckily he used his experience to bring his Red bull home in 5th place yahoooooooo 1st points of the season at long last. The wee Brazilain Massa won,shame it wasnt Alonso but he did well to get 3rd and the impressive Brit Hamilton got 2nd place.Hamilton is now leading the Championship-who'd of thought it and a rookie too!Nice one.
