Hanoi stopover
From Crossing borders & pushing boundaries in Hanoi, Vietnam on May 02 '07
On the same day we got back from the tour we were booked to go to Sapa on the overnight train. This left us enough time to shame our guest house owner into giving us back the $US10 he pocketed from us being stupid, and to cancel the day tour to the perfume pagoda we had booked through him also (which we then rebooked through a travel agent for a combined saving of $US12).
The others on our tour who had booked through him were all after getting more money back from the operator as the tour was not what was promised, but at this stage we decided to chalk it up to experience and let it go. We were just disappointed that we didn't get to do all the things on the original tour, as it did sound really great, and worth the $US55 in the first place!
We had dinner with the others before hopping on our lovely train to Sapa, feeling glad that we didn't book a tour for this trip!
