Spotting Nessie!!!

· Kev was up early today and with everything charged, he took off on Plugga to try and get the net at Macca’s. By the time he had done that (no luck), Jules was just waking up – 9:30am!! Nice1. We got everything possible done, washing, dishes, dunny, showers and even a bit of reading. Before heading off to our next destination we stopped of at the train station to see if we could spot Harry’s Train…no good this time!!! Next stop was Fort Augustus. We really liked this place. It had the Caledonian canals, which were really fascinating. They are a series of locks, which fill up then empty at different stages to allow boats to continue upstream!! We then went to a hotel and caught up with some net time, hot chocolates & beers. Being right at the start of Loch Ness we were very keen to drive off and check it out. By pure luck we happened to spot the monster lurking beneath the peat stained waters… it looks surprisingly a lot like a tree branch!!! After the close encounter we stumbled across a little ancient bridge just outside Invermoriston purely by chance, which we explored along with the beautiful forest surrounding it. Jules was very impressed with the miniature frogs she found by almost stepping on them- very cute. Jumping back into the van we saw some Highland cattle, funny looking things but we forgot to get pics…sorry!! We kept on going along the Loch towards Inverness in the hope we would find a nice little camp spot for the night. The views themselves were awesome but no luck with the park. We drove around Inverness, TWICE!! We ended up finding a nice place right on the River Ness next to lots of flowers, much to Julie’s delight. Early night in bed.
