Festival International de Benicassim
From Spain in Benicasim, Spain on Jul 16 '07
Oh la!
Right then, pretty painless getting to the festival and even managed to meet up with friends on the first night. Cheers to Lofty and Bugg and his mates for letting me stay with them. Didn´t bring a tent, and found I couldn´t put up my hammock. Alas, I slept outside nearly every night it was that hot.
Awesome festival rave-up.
Lost my phone the first night after getting a little too drunk (dickhead, I know!). This has now made things a little difficult, but should survive without. Although did make for some awkward moments in teh festival when I lost people for a while.
Once I met up with Jon Boy, the festival kicked off. We saw some great performances, ones that stood out: JoJo De Freq (set the rave tone first night), The Rapture, Jamie T, Kings of Leon, Muse, Simian Mobile Disco (couldn´t stop dancing to them).
Also had a good hard rave to teh Stanton Warriors set, they killed it, good work!
Anyway, had a nightmare getting out of Benicassim today. It´s basically a mass migaration, and the trains are packed. But, in Barcelona now, booked into a hostel just off Les Ramblas for the night. Looking forward to a bed and a shower, not sure if I´ll meet the others or not, as they are in Barca for the night, see how tired I feel a bit later. Could sleep for england right now.
Have to say Beni has to be one of the more tiring festivals there is. Get through this and most other things will be a piece of cake. I´m can compare this to SAS selection and I know what is harder (Beni)!
Anyway, internet time has nearly run out. So next stop hopefully Switzerland. hopefully try and get a train overnight tomorrow (past 12), or in the morning of the 26th, as that´s when my pass starts.
Adios!
P.S.
Do have a spanish phone I have brought for emergency. May need to top it up before I leave the country, as it cost for me to recive out of Spain. But, my facebook account has a messgae service number also if people need to countact me. But, email and facebook are just as good.
