To be honest I didn't really want to stop in Nha Trang at all as I had heard so many bad things about the place but when I realised how far Hoi An to Saigon was I decided to break up the journey and head to Nha Trang for one night with the girs....but it some how turned into 6 days!

The bus journey here took us 11 hours overnight - it wasn't a sleeper bus so it meant we were sitting virtually upright for the whole journey - it is hell! But when it is so cheap you sort of have to just get on with it, every other back packer is doing the same thing!

Things got a little lively there with us ladies trying to have some what of a drunken sing off with a rather ahem 'talented' local Vietnamese man called Johnny Holiday!

Our time in Nha Trang has been spent hanging out at the Louisiene Brew House which is a big open restaurant right on the beach. They brew their own beer, have a nice pool to cool off in, loungers all around and on the beach at front, good food, a pool table, chilled out music and a relaxed vibe. The staff are also really friendly - one waiter in particular called Cuong, be sure and say hi to him if you end up in there! It was our home for 99.9% of the time we were there - we just couldn't seem to leave!

Apart from working on my tan when it wasn't raining (which is hard work!) and wasting time at Louisene we didn't get up to a whole lot here. However one day we went on a booze cruise which was excellent. We knew some people here from our travels so we all joined together and boarded a boat which tours around a few islands for the day. At one point they set up a band and started pelting out the most horrendous cover tunes ever - it was so bad it was actually good! So we sipped beer and got into it! They then threw a floating bar in the water which was excellent fun. You dive off the boat and they cast you a ring which you sit in then go over to this circular floating bar with the barman in the middle passing out shots. Of course I decided I just had to be the bar lady and threw him off - was so much fun!!

On my last day in Nha Trang Katie & I decided to do para-sailing as we had been watching people do it all week. For 10US$ it was for nothing really. It was a shame the weather wasn't better when up there to see more but it was still good fun and good to see more of Nha Trang than just the beach! That even we joined the waitor Cuang for lobster and beer on the beach - it was one of the best picnics I have ever had! After that it was off to the local bia hoi place for jugs of beers that cost about 60cent! I finally left Nha Trang last night on another night bus (however this time it  was comfy as the bus was near empty and my seat nearly fully relcined) so am now in Saigon for the next few days. I managed to change my around the world ticket so at the moment I am due to fly to Perth on 30th October...between now and thing it is a little up in the air.....more to come soon!

This was a quote on the menu at the brew house....it sort of explains why we drank so much beer when we were there.....

Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed, then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself "It is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver".
