After an arduous and very long bus journey from La Cebia to San Cristobal, via Guatemala city, we were very very relieved to have made it here!
San Cristobal is a lovely town to walk around, especially as the sun came out for us. There are lots of little shops and markets and places to try the local cuisine.
We walked up a hill to a pretty little church with great views over the town. The town is surrounded by lots of little indigenous villages which are pretty easy to visit by bus or bicycle and allow you to get a reall feel for the local ways of life.

There are lots of bars around where we samples the local beers. A popular drink with the locals is a Michelada which consists of spicy sauces, pepper, lemon juice and beer. Very different but it definitely grew on us! The margatitas were pretty good too!
We spent a relaxing couple of days here - definitely worth a visit.
