Leaving Korea

Our flight was at 10am and we were up early (5:30am) to catch the airport bus (no. 606, W8000 pp). It took just over an hour to get from Choengdam to Incheon. The night before we had looked at information on the internet about whether or not we needed an onward ticket to get into the Philippines. From all accounts it seemed that the main problem was the airline letting you on the plane, not immigration.
We decided to avoid the risk and rushed about at the airport to buy a ticket to somewhere. Cathay Pacific sorted out a refundable ticket to Hong Kong from Manila for US$250 each. The refund incurred a W30,000 fee per ticket but we thought that it would be better than deportation. As it turned out Cathay Pacific didn't ask for evidence of an onward ticket during check-in, just asked the question, and we weren't checked at immigration. Bugger! We were hoping to be checked.

The flight went like all the others - diary writing, listening to music and catching up on a movie (Happy Feet, not as great as we were expecting). Manila was beckoning...
