Early morning when we should have been speeding to Montreal, we were enjoying the beautiful scenic views on interstate 87. And on a pure instinct we exited at Lake Placid, not even knowing it to be a winter olympic host city. Our true reason was its similarity of name with a pretty average movie. It was a good decision. We had lunch there and hung around long enough to enjoy some really great views and a friendly small town. Only regret, we never figured out which of the many lakes we saw was Lake Placid.

We reached Montreal at 3, about 6 hours later than planned, but our hotel was ready and waiting. Looked pretty scary from ourside, but the inside was clean and comfortable, this was Hotel Taj Mahal. Wehen we first heard about it, we had laughed at the name but ironically we had to book a room here since everything else was too expensive or booked. It was much later that we noticed the hookers that populated the streets outside. Thats what kept the proces low.

I met some family for an early dinner and then hung out with friends for the rest of the night, awesome party happened. There were Ferraris parellal parked along a whole street, Lamborginis were spinning wheels on the streets, BMW had their latest models on display and there was a party for as far as we could see. Just phenomenal! We were dead tired and didint last too long in the night. It was going to be a bigger party on Saturday, so we hit the sack.

Next morning started as early as you'd expect with 8 lazy bums. 3 of us had been joined by 5 of our other friends and the party was rolling. We walked to the French Quarters in Montreal and enjoyed a fantastic French brunch. We spent the day walking in the festivities. The city does come out at its wildest for the F1 race. After all there are only a few months when its not covered in snow. We were there at the right time!

The evening was so much the same as the day before, just so much wilder. We went clubbing in a place where there was barely enough place to stand. I bumped into one of my B-school buddies, it is a small world. The party continued late into the night. Tired as we were, we stayed up till pretty late, got a little drunk and partied.

Tomorrow we would watch the race!!
