We woke up this morning and tackled Louisville. We started off with the Louisville Slugger Museum, where they make the bats. They weren't going to open for awhile, and they don't produce bats on Sundays, so we saved our money, took some great photos outside and did what anybody else would do...we peeked in the window. We got to see where they make they bats, how they start from big hunks of wood, and then the finished product, hanging right there in the window. Outside, propped up against the side of the building is the world's largest baseball bat. Pretty cool! They also have the world's largest baseball glove and ball, but those were hidden inside the museum, so we'll just have to settle for the bat. Check out the pic!

From there, we drove to Churchill Downs, home of the Kentucky Derby. Much bigger than we expected! We didn't see the actual track, but got to drive around the facility and got some good pictures. Then, it was off to Nashville! In the Music City, we walked up and down Broadway visiting the Grand Ol' Opry and Tootsie's, a nearby bar where performers would go for refreshments before they went onstage at the Opry. The walls were covered with autographed photos and other memorabilia, including a large photo of Tootsie herself. We paid a quick visit to the Parthenon, a life-size replica of the Greek Parthenon right there in downtown Nashville. We left town heading west to Memphis, where tomorrow we'll visit the home of the King, Graceland. I'm sure we'll have much more to report after that visit!

When Rich-Tones won our 3rd world championship in Nashville we stayed within walking distance of the Grand Ol'Opry - I ran over there before dashing to the airport for the flight home. Glad you got to see it! xoxoxo Mom
