Back Into English Territory

Well we have made it back into the place where english is the first language!  It's been fun trying to learn other languages but it makes it so much easier when you are trying to talk to someone from the area.

We arrived in the late afternoon and headed for the Christmas market which was excellent.  We were not able to go to any in Germany since it wasn't the time of year yet, but this one was filled with all the German foods along with any otehr type of food you could think of.  It really got you up and ready for the festive season.

The next day we decided to get a black cab tour through the town.  The guide was as Irish as they come, the cab was grey and the stories were great.  He took us on a tour through some of the areas that were and still are affected by the violence that has been going on since the 60's.  It gave a really insidde look at what has happened and who did what and all that.  Everything from the massive 'Peace Wall' to the murals in the Protastant area that will soon be removed.  It was esspecially good since he did not give a bias view of the situation and gave the extreme end of both sides.  After the tour he asked us what we were doing and after hearing our ideas, he suggested we instead go to a pub since there isn't anything else worth seeing.  So we did.
