After seeing enough of silicon valley, we spent a few days looking around San Francisco. The funnest thing we did was to go on a Segway tour. Segways are a personal human transporter that you stand on (see photos). To make them go you simply lean your body weight forward and to slow down you straighten up. They are amazing devices that cost almost $2000 each.

Whilst in SF we also rode the famous cable car system, checked out a few bars and looked around the shops which were abuzz with Christmas shoppers.

We has a really great time in SF except for the weather. It was 0 when we arrived and didn't get much warmer than 10 the whole time we were there. Driving to the airport proved to be a disaster with heavy traffic all the way there. We weren't expecting such heavy traffic so late in the day and didn't get to the airport until 20 minutes prior to our plane leaving. Not surprisingly we missed the flight. Frustratingly there were no the flights with the airline we flew with that had free seats for a couple of days. This made us very worried. Being stranded for that long was really not an option. Fortunately we found another airline with another flight to Florida. We had to pay another $500 for the ticket. Jet Blue was a really awesome airline. The crew were extremely friendly and I hung out with them in the back of the plane for a fair bit of the flight. They give you unlimited drinks and snacks and have live cable TV channels on individual TVs. If you can fly with these guys whilst you're in the US I'd strongly recommend it.
