Kicked out of Potosi shortly after the mine tour on a quick 3-hour bus trip...and I mean QUICK.  The driver seem to be on some other stimulant than coca...

Some amazing weather and topography as we headed to Sucre: on the left side of the bus, a bright blue, purplish sky with some light clouds.  On the right side, the very gates of hellseemed to have been opened; reds, oranges and silouetted mountains in the distance with dark clouds flashing with a violent electrical storm.  The skies were angry.

Arrived in Sucre and walked around, exploring the town, but mainly relaxing.  also enjoyed some magnificent fruit drinks in the local market, a fascinating setup where there is a row of ladies who basically whip together whatever concoction of fruits you like for about 2Bs.

Sucre is a charming place, a town of students and intellectuals with lovely buildings that could be in any Spanish city in Europe.  The official capital of Bolivia, it also the seat of much political activity.

Went for a stroll to one of the highest points in the city to appreciate the view and check out an interesting nunnery.  Also checked out the local cemetery, and enjoyed a cup (chalice) of espresso with Miles at a local cafe.

Met a couple of Canadian girls (both went to McGill), one of whom is the step daughter of the now, FORMER mayor of Ottawa (had just lost in the recent municial election)  Small world.  Had a great dinner with the Canuck ladies at La Taverne, a restaurant within the Alliance the Francais building in the heart of the city.
