This morning we gathered all of our treasured souveniers and went marching to the post office. Once we got there we walked all around gathering a box, an ATM (no credit cards at the post office), and finally thefreight office. Yay, we got it sent! That was a 15lb monkey off our back, and for only 27US dollars. Then we went back to our...accomadations and checked out. We turtled up and went back to Petaling street, our new hotel is right in the middle of the action. We have a/c and a shower and toilet that we don't have to share with the (all male) staff. We took showers, we had abstained yesterday because, well, just trust us. Then we went to catch a cab to Menara Kuala Lumpur, well the cabbie wanted 20 ringgits so we walked. Actually the walk was quite pleasent, it was later in the afternoon and cloudy so the heat wasn't unbearable. The tower is the 4th larget telecommunications tower in the world and what is really cool is that there is a jungle, a real one, all around it's base. We walked up the hill to the tower and checked out the stores on the first level, thenwe did part of the jungle walk, but the skeeters were pretty bad. They have suspension bridges for part of it, lots of fun. There was a sign warning about poisenous snakes, scorpions and centipedsbut we didn't see any of the above. Went up to the top of the tower, about 8 US for the both of us. The viewwas amazing. There is a whole audio tour you do up there, it was nice because it pointed out a lot of things we wouldn't have known about otherwise. KL is so nice because even though there are lots of modern skyscrapers and such it is still a very green city. From up there you just see trees everywhere. We stayed up there till itwas tatally dark out, then we watched the city lights. Back downstairs we went to eat at an Indian resturaunt, we were joined by a niceman who worked as an engineer at the tower. Cookie had talked with him and some other guysearlier and he said that was the first time in the year hehas worked there that any of the tourists have spoken to him. He talked with us for quite a while, but honestly he was so soft-spoken that I didn't hear most of what he said! The food was reallygood, but I was so full after eating hardly any, what a waste. The walk back to our hotel was very quick, it was after 10 at night but we both felt completely safe, the longest part of the walk was trying to wind our way through the market. We were both quite tired and after some journal writing we went to sleep.

I can see for miles and miles and milessssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
