So we are in costa rica near the arenal volcano

after 1 week in san juan del sur in nicargua, sarah and i made what turned out to be an eazy trip down to san jose to meet my sister jenny and her hubby pete

we met them at the airport with rum and a beer

stayed the night in alajuela where there are no resturaunts open after 10pm...doh

after bfast, we got our rental car a huge SUV that seats 5 migets...when i say 'huge' i mean 'tiny'

actually it was fine for us four...and we headed south to manual antonio NP which is a sweet beach with dense jungle going right up to the sand

we spent 3 days and nights there. one day we went kayaking which was cool except the surf was up and jenny and pete got dumped going out...jer and sarah made it just fine...then jenny got decided to chum the waters...sea sick and we both got dumped on the way back in...

a nother day we hiked in to the park where we saw monkeys and cool moniter lizards and hung out on a beautiful beach and ate the pineapple we brought and smashed open a coconut too...very nice

one day we got pete, who is from buffalo, out on a surfboard...it was not a pretty sight

a good time though

so then we headed back to san jose to pick mom and dad who were flying in for a week

we met them at the airport with a coconut with ear muffs and a pine apple and some fly swatters that we found we needed in our 5 days in costa rica

we all went up to volano arenal and have been here a few days

yester day, jenn and pete went rafting and jer, sarah and mom and dad took a horseback ride to an awesome waterfall...jumped in the water, ate another pineapple and then got seriously rained on onthe way back up...just poaring

last night we went to a hot springs/resort to soak in the hot water, and visit the swim up bar...nice buddy

some of the spas had a view of the volcano which was active and clear that night for some awesome glowing rocks sliding down the mountain...awesome and you could hear it too which was really cool

today, we say goodbye to jenn and pete who fly out tomorrow and mom and dad and sarah and i will head to the beaches of monetuzuma to hopefully get some sun

we shee
