Iceland never ceases to amaze. After my third visit, it is still my favorite place on Earth. The landscape is unlike any other, the people are smart and unique. I went to a number of bars, cafes, and clubs with my friends, all great places with a fantastic ambience.
On the weekend we went out around 2:00 a.m. and partied until the next morning. Indepedence Day was crazy; we saw a bunch of concerts, including Iceland's female supergroup Nylon (hot but the songs were awful).

It seemed like every single young person in the country was out all night (Iceland's total population is 300,000, most of whom live near Reykjavik).
There are no closing times on the weekend at any of the bars; when people leave is when they close. Not bad for business, since a draft beer costs anywhere from $8.00 - $12.00.
It was quite weird to walk from bar to bar around 3 or 4 in the morning and have it be completely light out (although usually overcast). The weather was actually freezing all week - I would say around high 30s, low 40s and raining (except for Jokulsarlon which was cloudless and hot).

My friends said it was nice the week before, but I don't know if I believe them.
I seriously believe it was warmer during my visit at New Year's.
