Sods law, our last day here and we woke up too heavy rain! After breakfast Andy went on the internet and uploaded more pictures for the travel page whilst Meg got stuck into her 2nd book of the trip. We ate lunch then played some cards whilst it kept raining. Meg decided to catch 40 winks in preparation for tonights airport stay and Andy did more work on the travel page. By 3:00 or so the weather had finally improved a bit, so we ventured out. After a farewell Tim Horton's muffin and donutwe walked to Rainbow Bridge as we thought we'd wlak over to the U.S side of the falls. Just as we paid to get on to the bridge we realised that we didn't have our passports with us!!! Andy went all the way back to the hostel to get them and we eventually crossed the bridge and into the U.S. This side is more of a park with 99% of the tourist area and hotels being some distance from the falls. We wnt on the observation deck which juts out over the river to give better views of both falls because the falls are actually on this side so you are kind of on top of them. Meg had her yellow poncho on (think she loved being called the Yellow Smurf!) as it kept spitting with rain but it didn't materialise into anything heavier. We could really get a fell for the true power of the falls here because on this side you can get right next to both falls as they flow over the edge of the valley. We eventually walked back over the bridge and back to our hostel and had dinner (yes you guessed it!), said our godbyes to Joe and his wife and got a taxi to the coach station (Meg left the wtaer and the cooler bag in the taxi!). We got on the coach to Buffalo which left Niagara at 9:40 and arrived at 11:15 after a lenghty wait to get through the U.S border control. For some reason as we were English they let us through extremely quickly but grilled everyone else on our coach the majority of whom seemed to be American and we witnessed one officer giving an Oriental looking woman a hard time aws she had a US passport but could't even speak English. We arriaved at the airport from the Buffalo Coach Station at 11:35 by taxi. To kill time we played some more cards, read our books and watched the cleaners polish the floors. As Andy wasn't as clever as Meg to have a kip during the day, he flaked out with his eye mask on and ear plugs in on the uncomfortable benches with a sleeping bag for a pillow!
