The journey from Potosi to Uyuni took about 7 hours on dirt roads.  It was quite possibly the bumpiest and dustiest ride of my life...actually, it was.  Again, we had our own private bus so that provided a little more comfort then a ride in the public bus would have afforded.  I ran into several travelers who had endured the trip via public transpo and not a one was impressed.  The bus strike was a blessing in disguise.  It was quite interesting to once again watch the landscape continually get drier and more desolate as we approached the Atacama Desert.  Uyuni would act as an entry point to the salar and the rest of the sights we would experience on our 4 day adventure through the Atacama.  This of course would also be our last place of refuge for the extreme remoteness of our destinations reachable only via 4x4  vehicle.
