Visiting the AMAZING mayan ruins

Where do I start...........
This has to be the best, most beautiful and amazing place I have visited this far in my trip. I shared my room with a cool Korean guy, and we booked a guide to take us into the park early the next morning (Tue 18th). On the day I got there, I was supposed to see the sunset above the pyramids but it was too cloudy so didn't end up doing so. We had an early start....up at 4am, at the meeting point by 4.30. We started our trek into the jungle and got to the highest pyramid 30 mins before sunrise. The sunrise above from the top of the pyramid and above the vast jungle was absolutely magical!!!!!! This area has an amazingly rich history and existed from the BC era right up to around 940AD. It was where the Mayans (indigenous people who migrated from Asia thousands of years ago) lived. The temples, pyramids, plazas etc were amazing. The trek through the jungle in order to get there was what made it even more special as we saw different wildlife and some rare plants and trees. We were finished by 9 am and got the 12.30 bus to Flores.
“WHOA!!!!!!”
