6. Drive to Lyon

Depart Lyon 9am -drive through several small towns - stop at Aux Les Bains - great place for mountain climbing and sailing.

Clare orders cappuccino - gets huge topping of whipped cream.

Arrived

Freeway to Lyon arrive mid afternoon - traffic tres chaotic -buses trucks ,trucks,motor bikes , push bikes , pedestrians to dodge - main road rule seems to be " go for it ".

Tourist office - book accomodation - advised easy to get to - yeah right. Parking access to hotel almost impossible to find. Underground  circular car park 6 floors down.

Finally get into studio apartment - very cosy but can't find bed. Eventually realise that lounge folds down into bed - re-group.

Evening ride on funicular to look-out over city . Beer and campari and dinner.
