We travelled by private minibus from Monteverde to Quepos, arriving at our hotel - the Mono Azul (Blue Monkey) - some 5 hours later. This was probably the nicest hotel of our entire trip - especially since we had a swimming pool which we made full use of :o)

Unfortunately on the first evening I went over on my ankle whilst running around the pool (trying to get to the hotel shop before it shut!) & sprained it really badly. For a day or two I was actually quite worried that I might have broken my foot again, but it seems to be on the mend now which is good news. So I am now not only covered in bruises & scrapes, but am also hobbling! Don't think I'm cut out for this backpacking malarky - not quite the restful holiday I was envisaging :o)

Because I couldn't walk too far/too fast, I wasn't able to do too much whilst in Quepos which was a real shame as there's a lovely national park there, in which you can see all kinds of wildlife. Boooooooooooooooo. However, I did get to spend a couple of days chilling on the beach in the sun & splashing about in Pacific waves (it was actually more like drowning in the Pacific waves since they were rolling in at quite a pace!). One morning us girls wandered into town in search of a nice brekkie & came across a gorgeous coffee shop where they did all kinds of posh coffees - so my iced mocha addiction was fed once again :o)
