Windy Welly

The last stop on the north island was Wellington after a 5 hour drive. This is known as a windy city and defo stands up to this, it was freezing and gale force winds so we went to the Te Papa Museum on the first day for a good look around. This is Nz's best museum and a really brilliant place, giving the history off NZ culture, the Maoris and pacific islanders.

That night the wind picked up further so we had a freezing night in the campervan, this camping lark is defo meant only for good weather!!! It was so cold we had to invest in a hot water bottle! Money well spent....

The following day was still quite stormy so we drove into the city centre and had a walk around the main shopping area, Cuba Street and Lampton Quay and after that we went to the cinema to see 'how to loose friends and alienate people', hilarious film!

At the cinema, we bumped into the Irish girls who used to work in PWC again, such a small world!!!!

On the Monday it was Labour day here so we headed off on the inter islander ferry to Picton on the south island and hopefully better weather......

We heard on the radio the following day that that two Irish brothers' camper van was stolen while the stayed in Wellington. They were mugged at gun point and the van was later burned out. Nearly as dangerous as South America then!!!
