Such many different things to see and learn!
From Yellowstone National Park in Yellowstone National Park, United States on Jun 22 '06
We had many expectations upon entering Yellowstone. One was not the long wait through construction.
However, the day got better as we got to smell the sulphur of the hot springs and see the boiling water. We even got to see our first Bison (Buffalo).
The sights of such nature filled us
This would have been even better if we had had two or more days to explore all that this park has to offer. We didn't get to drive the whole park just about 150 miles or so of it. We were constantly in and out of the car. Seeing geysers or hoping that the people pulled over were taking pictures of some great wild animal.
We did get the opportunity to see a young bear eating just off the road and slowed to take a picture. There was a guy, out of his car, on the side taking pictures!
We continued on and had to pause for the Bison were blocking our paths. We watched as they huddled near the road and I rolled the window down to listen. they sounded like lions talking and rubbing at the hair that was coming off. It was an amazing thing to see and hear. They are even bigger up close as one got right next to my window making me and my husband a little nervous.
We continued on and got to take many pictures of the beautiful Mammoth Springs. The whole idea of this place is so fascinating.
Driving on we came to a bridge and noticed it almost blocked with cars stopped and people running with their cameras. So, I jumped out with my in hopes it wasn't another Elk. It was a very large bear and I was in awe. I got two pictures before people started blowing the horns and making Shane anxious to get out of the way. So I left. Now all I wanted to see was a Moose and I would be happy.
The sights of such nature filled us as we took in all we had a chance to see. this trip was worth it in many many ways.
