Savoring the great city of Madrid, one sangria at a time
From Summer and Jenica's European Vacation in Madrid, Spain on Jul 26 '01
We used our guidebook to find a place to stay in Madrid, or at least, our guidebook led us to a place (with no vacancies) that recommened another place. The lobby looked like a scene from a horror movie, and I loved it. It was lovely but very dark and haunting. We set forth to check out the city and get a taste of sangria.
Our first afternoon was spent walking through the city streets, hanging out at Plaza del Sol and Plaza Mayor (both are plaza's filled with great tapas resturants and great murals and architecture. We were always hungry at the wrong times, and ate when no one else was even thinking of food.
After a few hours we noticed that only the tourists wore baggy clothes, so we headed out to a department store for some hot pants and tight tops. It's very fun to shop at a department store away from home. I bought tight green pants that Cher would probably have envied in the 1960's. And we set out for the night.
Unfortunately, I forget the name of the clubs we went to - but they might have changed since then anyway.
