After we finished our cruise, we arrived in the hippy town of Olympos, close to Mount Olympos on the Turkish coast. Olympos was very small and communal, with a stinky beach. There's a creek that runs behind all the hostels and straight onto the beach, and we have a feeling that the Olympos sewerage system isn't the greatest...

We stayed in a 400+ bed hostel called Turkmens treehouses, one of the original hostels in the area. As they are not allowed to build permanent structures (there are some ruins of an ancient city close by), some bright spark had the idea to build rooms in trees. Very, very basic rooms, with one shower/toilet block shared by all 400 dirty travellers; but a very interesting experience!

The next day we were to board a bus for a massive journey through the middle of Turkey, to Istanbul in the far north...
