Well after taking a Taxi to the Florence airport they put us in a little station wagon the size of a ford focus. We complained that it was not what we ordered, but that fell of deaf ears. After a major juggling act and braking the rear luggage carrier in the car,we managed to squeeze everything in,including jills bag that started off at 20Kg and not only is it  over 30kg it had a child that weighs nearly 15kg. When we arrived in Rome airport to drop off the vehicle, they tried to sting us for two days rental, but being exposed to the strong willed Italian way of life for the last couple of weeks, I challenged (politely) their way of doing business and they agreed to reduce to 1 day.

Orvietta is a magnificant place ,perched on top of a volcanic mound and full of history,more when we get home.

Rome is hot and we have just spent about 4 hrs doing the sites and have come home for an afternoon siesta to get ready for more tonight.

hope you are all well. We are travelling perfectly and really have not had any troubles (apart from the train strike which caught us off guard)
