We arrived in Waitomo Wednesday, December 31st and spent New Years in town.
Early in the day, after arriving, we took a walk through the hills surrounding Waitomo.
For New Years Eve, we went to the local bar, Curlys and enjoyed potato wedges and live music.
New Years morning, we went black water rafting. There were only 2 other people in our group so we were able to do some extra exploring. Including, jumping off water falls, climbing up double waterfalls and exploring other parts of the cave. We even got to see a few eels!
We are now on our way to Wellington, which is about a 6.5 hour drive.
