INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT GUATEMALA

1. The indigenious Mayan's speak Maya and there are 20 separate types of Maya language

2. Guatemala is at the confluence of three tectonic plates with major quakes in 1773, 1917 and 1976 and over 30 volcanoes in the country which is similar to the size of England

3.Residents of Antigua are known as "panza verde" (green belly) as they are said to eat lots of avocado's esp gucamole

I spent the day in Antigua wondering around the town with my friend Amy from university who was also here at the same town.We went to the markets and saw some of the churches that are scattered around the town.

There is a really good volcano hike here to Pacaya volcano where you can get really close to Lava but unfortunately I was sick while I was here so was unable to do it though people that I met that did had a fabulous time.
