East to La Crosse

We left Sioux Falls this morning and drove on Interstate 90 toward La Crosse, Wisconsin. We cut off the freeway at Highway 16 and took the scenic route through the Bluff Country. It was quite beautiful and not what I had expected in Southern Minnesota. Drove through some lovely country and saw lots of corn and soy beans - I think most of them were not for food. We followed the Root River to the Mississippi where we stopped for the night and crashed at Pettibone Resort.

It was cloudy and cool all day which was good for driving. Tonight it is raining lightly.
