Well, to clarify, Rag Week is supposed to be a week where a lot of fundraising and charity work is done. The way this is done is through parties at clubs, pubs, and even at the school. Everybody was out this week; the city was mobbed! Every club or bar we went to we donated something to charity either from us paying cover or for beer. It was a wild week. On Saturday, my roommates Steph, Jackie, Liam, and I traveled out to Blarney to see the castle, the grounds, the wool mill, and of course, to kiss the stone. We could not ask for a better day to travel. It was sunny and warm; we even had our lunch outside! The castle is very small, but quite amazing. The view from the top of the surrounding grounds was so scenic. There are even several caves to explore; there was no light so we used our cameras. I know I hit my head and my feet on rocks at least three or four times. I did kiss the Blarney stone. It is an interesting experience knowing that so many people have put their lips there too! The area around the castle was interesting as well. There was a river, a waterfall, Druid circles and alter, wishing steps, and other places to explore. The photos give a good picture of the place. After the castle, we had some lunch by the Woollen Mill in the village. I made sure to buy the family some wool items. We stayed most of the day, and Blarney is so close to Cork that it was not too bad for traveling. Only like 20 minutes by bus.
