Our first view of Victoria falls - The water flow is comparibly very light at this time of the year. Generally you would only be able to see mist from the powerful falls.

Zambia, Finally the vibrant Africa we had expected. Active, scent-filled streets as well as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World, Victoria Falls.

After viewing the falls from the regular park view points, which of course were awe-inspiring, we agreed to follow a "guide" (some Zambian dude who was hanging around)to see the angels pool. To say it was a little nerve racking walking knee deep across the Zambezi river just metres above the 100m drop would be an understatement, but the stress filled hike was well worth it once we arrived at the paridisical swimming hole located right on the edge of the falls. We can honestly say neither of us have ever swam so close to anything remotely as stomach turning as the sheer drop over the falls - makes one a bit dizzy. As Matt stood on the edge of the falls I thought for a brief second how nice some peace and quiet would be and how easily I could have it for the first time on this trip. Unforgettable - Thanks John for that experience as well as the sunset cruise (AKA the booze cruise) that followed that evening. A wonderful sunset dinner cruise along the Zambezi complete with Hippos, crocs, and a bunch of wild tourists.

These are little more than a hang glider glued to a lawn chair and a fan!

The next day we discovered that Deb wanted to kill us by sending us on a microlight trip (these are little more than a hang glider glued to a lawn chair and a fan) over Victoria Falls offering us views of the Zambian and Zimbabwe sides of the falls as well as the Zambezi river. With something so large this was probably the only way we could fully appreciate how grandiose the falls truly are. Thanks Deb, we would never have had this opportunity for a truly unique experience and we will never look at lawn chairs the same.

It was just a quick but action packed trip to Zambia... Next stop the Okavango Delta (Botswana) and Krugar National Park (S.Africa). Yippee

Alisa's Bug update: So some of you were wondering if I had seen any BIG spiders....well here is the first of them and holy smokes was this guy ever fast!! I had to leave the room as they chased it down from the wall for fear it would run up my leg and into my hair! Needless to say, I slept with one eye open that night!

Hey guys, great blog! You should stop in nyc on your way home and I'll show you the exotic species native to Brooklyn... most notably the cockroach, the subway rat, and the Mets fan. Have fun!

Jenna/Carm/Nicole/Amy - The picture is not an exaggeration, the spider was unreal. We will definitely keep supplementing the blogs with as many pictures as possible so you can see what we are talking about. We miss you all too! Thanks for commenting!

Good lord, this is an action packed blog! I love it - as I sit here eating my lunch at work at my desk. My craziest sighting thus far this summer was a black bear in the front yard at the Ranch!
