So a pretty early start from Bellingham and set off for the Canadian border. Got into a bit of a pickle with the American border guard ..after a bit of argy-bargy we parked the bikes up and walked across the border into Canada. Took photos and picked up a stone to deposit in Mexico (hmm a bit divvy but there you go!)
Met an elderly guy making his return from a BMW bike convention. He has covered over 100,000 miles since his wife died a few years ago. Made our way to the American border post and Andy was subject to intense investigation. When asked his occupation he replied international playboy. This did not go down well and he was threatened with a strip search - well that was our suggestion and they nearly did it!

Left the border and made for Mt Baker (5,000+ feet). Great ride up but the weather worsened, and became sleet and snow. At the top snowball fight.
We then headed for Winthrop, and went through very heavy rain through the maintains. However, once out we were in prairie country and the sky cleared and the heat increased. Winthrop is a great cowboy town with proper wooden sidewalks and buildings. Became big celebrities with our bikes. Couldn't find a room though and headed to Twisp, 6 miles up the road.Booked into motel and headed to the local bar.

Met 'T' and drank 8.5% cider. That did the trick and soon very drunk. Offered to help T lay her concrete floor with her friend Tamara. Last ones in this bar so headed for another and met Mike, Alex and Heather - fire fighter feeders. They bought the drinks and we got the place rocking - everybody singing and dancing. Diane decided to display her breasts - how could we complain! Andy met the love of his life and insisted she was not 70 only 63 - we're not so sure.
"I thought only nice people lived in Twithp"
We retired for the night only to find Barry the next day asleep on the floor, fully clothed (including shoes) using a damp towel as a comfort blanket.
