I was bursting with anticipation as we landed in Italy... I couldn't  wait to get back! We were staying in Bergamo, a city at the foothills of the Alps about and hour away from Milan.

The first two days we took the train into milan and mostly walked around taking in the sights.  The second night Dave scored tickets to the AC Milan vs. Parma game.  It was so wild! There were panini and souvenir stand surrounding the stadium as you walk up.  Italians were eating away and getting geared up before heading into the stadium.  Once inside San Siro we caught a bit of the teams warming up. It was my first live football game and was enjoying listening to the fans singing the entire time!  Half time was very Italian....everyone rushed the bar to take espresso shots. The game finished 1 all.  I came out of it big fan of KaKa! Impressive player!

Luckily, I found a spot and we watched Man Utd win 2-0 against Chelsea!

The last day we walked around Bergamo.  The city is separated into two parts the Citta Bassa and the Citta Alta.  Until this point we only saw the Citta Bassa which is the newer modern area.  To get to the Citta Alta you have to take the funicolare (a kind of tram) up the step hill that divides the two towns.  The Citta Alta was beautiful with lovely views of the alps and the Citta Bassa.  It took about an hour to walk the whole town. We had a gorgeous lunch after, Ravioli Bergamo, ravioli with butter, parmesan cheese and bacon. Delish!

After lunch we went for a few in the local Irish pub (something different!)  Then I gave my college education a try and went from bar to bar trying to find a place to watch the Man Utd game. Luckily, I found a spot and we watched Man Utd win 2-0 against Chelsea!
